"Music for Young Bands" is the title of the new CD released in 2004 by the NSBA. It includes a selection of musical works commissioned by NSBA from British composers in recent years and first performed at NSBA regional Festivals. Composers represented include Elaine Agnew, Sir Malcolm Arnold, Arthur Butterworth, Alan fernie, Bruce Fraser, Stuart Johnson, Phillip Sparke and Scott Stroman.

The music itself is performed by students of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama and NYCoS, conducted by Nigel Boddice and Bryan Allen. Trustees of NSBA wish to record their grateful thanks to RASMD and Principal, John Wallace OBE for their outstanding musical contribution to this important recoeding project.
